Tired of seeking?

You don't need years of therapy, complex healing modalities, or endless self-help books to end your suffering—you just need four simple questions and the support to answer them for yourself. This 3-day mini-workshop teaches you Byron Katie's deceptively simple yet profoundly transformative method of self-inquiry that can dissolve painful beliefs, resolve dilemmas, and free you from the mental prison you've unconsciously built around yourself. In just 6 hours total, you'll learn a practical tool you can use for the rest of your life to question the thoughts that cause your suffering and discover who you are without your story.

This Workshop is Perfect If You...
....have read every self-help book, tried therapy, meditation apps, and various healing modalities but still find yourself trapped in cycles of anxiety, self-criticism, and painful thoughts about relationships, career, and self-worth. You may be very intellectually aware of your patterns but can't seem to break free from them.

People who benefit from doing The Work have been in the following types of human situations they really care about and want to change:

  • People stuck in repetitive negative thought patterns
  • Those dealing with relationship conflicts (romantic, family, friendships)
  • Individuals facing major life transitions or decisions
  • Anyone experiencing anxiety, depression, or emotional overwhelm
  • People pleasers who can't set boundaries
  • Perfectionists paralyzed by self-criticism
  • Parents struggling with guilt or anger
  • Professionals facing burnout or imposter syndrome
  • Those grieving or processing loss
  • People confused by repetitive behavior around compulsion of any kind (eating, drinking, smoking, obsessing)
  • Anyone feeling stuck despite trying multiple healing approaches
  • Spiritual seekers wanting practical tools for awakening

What You'll Experience
🔍 Deep Self-Inquiry
Learn to identify and question the thoughts that create suffering around your body using Byron Katie's four questions and turnarounds.
💝 Compassionate Acceptance
Discover how to hold space for your thoughts about reality with kindness.

Stop being tortured by your own mind and discover the peace that comes when you realize that thoughts you've believed about yourself, others, or life have never been true—and in that recognition, you become free to actually live beyond instead of just surviving your thoughts.
🌟 Practical Tools
Walk away with concrete practices you can use whenever stress arises, creating lasting change in how you relate to yourself, the people in your life, and your life in general.
👥 Supportive Community
Share this transformative experience with others who understand the challenges of making peace with reality.

Simple and Sweet

Unlike other workshops that can require in-person attendance, or longer-term meetings online, this is a step-by-step, bite-sized approach that breaks down The Work into digestible daily practices for only 3 days. You're not just learning the four questions—you're discovering how to identify the hidden beliefs causing your suffering, understanding why your current change strategies aren't working, and receiving group support to ensure you actually integrate this practice into your life.

Fair Warning

"This workshop won't give you new beliefs to replace your old ones or positive affirmations to repeat. In fact, you might leave with fewer answers than you came with—because The Work isn't only about finding better thoughts (although sometimes, that happens), it's about questioning whether you need to believe any thought at all."

Here's what we'll be doing:

  • Identify hidden beliefs → Stop being blindsided by recurring pain patterns
  • Slow down your mind → Catch thoughts before they spiral into suffering
  • Master the 4 Questions → Have a tool for life that works on ANY problem
  • Recognize your personal concepts → See through the stories you tell yourself
  • Understand why change hasn't worked → Stop wasting energy on ineffective strategies
  • Practice group inquiry → Experience the power of witnessed transformation
  • Build a support system → Connect with others on the same journey
  • Learn the key ingredient → Discover what actually makes The Work effective
  • Apply to real situations → Leave with practical experience, not just theory
  • Develop self-inquiry skills → Become your own best guide and teacher

"Even the subtlest upset is a form of suffering. It doesn't feel natural. Meeting people with understanding feels more like you. So when an annoyed or angry thought appears, can you meet that thought with understanding, through inquiry? When you learn to meet your thoughts with understanding, you can meet everyone and everything with understanding." ~ Byron Katie

Open to Everyone

No prior experience with The Work required. Come with an open heart and willingness to question your thoughts.

Can't attend live? No problem! You'll receive access to the full replay for 30 days, so you can experience this transformation on your own timeline.

Give yourself 6 hours set aside to do this work.

"Become very still, with eyes closed, and begin to focus on one specific problematic, stress-filled, difficult moment within that situation, when you were, in your words, “having trouble standing up for yourself.” For example, “I am angry at” (or saddened, etc.—identify the emotion you were feeling in that moment) and then fill in the name. Now, eyes closed, identify and get in touch with why you were angry (or saddened or …) at that person in that moment. Next, as you continue to consider and meditate on that same situation, fill in the next five statements on the Worksheet.

Now, let’s continue, let’s do The Work. Begin by questioning each statement on the Judge-Your-Neighbor Worksheet, one by one. Meditate on all four questions, then find turnarounds, and examples for each turnaround. This process takes focus, an open heart, and stillness. Your examples for each turnaround will reveal new realities to you. Allow them, as they are shown to you, to settle into your awareness, realities you may not have been aware of, they will wake you up one by one and enlighten you, show you a much kinder world. With all the love in my heart, I invite you to meet that world that is living right here, right now, right under your nose, just four questions (and your answers to them) away." ~ Byron Katie

Why work with Grace?

Since 2005, what I've noticed about my students as well as my own personal inquiry life, is that so much can be discovered when it comes to telling our stories. To question and shift our thoughts about friends when it has gone "wrong" can altar for the best your perception of life.

Grace Bell, Long-Time Facilitator of The Work (received certification in The Work in 2007)

MA Applied Behavioral Science from Bastyr University Leadership Institute of Seattle 1997

Certified Counselor WA State 2010

Can't wait to meet with you for this 3-day mini-workshop in self-inquiry.

After learning The Work and attending the School for The Work in 2005, I went from an anxious, self-critical, eating-disordered isolate without a regular job, to someone who meets with people daily, runs retreats to share the profound practice of self-inquiry, and explores stressful stories about life with joy (most of the time).

Let's do The Work, for freedom.

Is This Workshop Right For You?

Q: I've never done The Work before. Can I still participate?
Yes, absolutely! This workshop is designed for both beginners and those with experience. We'll cover the basics of The Work's four questions and turnarounds as we move through the process, ensuring everyone has the foundation needed to engage. I'll guide you every step of the way. Coming with a "Beginners Mind" is actually wonderful.

Q: Is this workshop too basic for my situation? Work is powerful precisely because it meets you where you are. Many participants with deeply challenging experiences with the body have experienced significant shifts. The simplicity of the process allows it to work with even the most complex situations.

Q: What if my situation is critical...or the opposite and not a matter of life or death?
The Work is equally effective whether you're doing The Work on a serious issue like stage 4 cancer, or you are concerned about your broken kitchen drawer. Everything is welcome here, this is about being honest and sitting with what appears to be the reality, and allowing the mind to relax with inquiry.

Q: Do I need to share personal details?
No. While voluntary sharing can enhance the experience, you can participate fully by working with your thoughts privately. The workshop is structured to respect everyone's comfort level with disclosure. You can attend with camera off (although you are encouraged to have it on for connection) and everyone will be muted unless you want to share.

Q: What technical requirements do I need for the Zoom meeting?
You'll need a device with internet connection, a webcam, and microphone. A quiet, private space is recommended. The Zoom link will be sent to you after registration, along with simple instructions for joining if you're new to the platform. It is also possible to dial in with your phone.

Q: Will the session be recorded?
Yes, the workshop will be recorded and available to participants afterward. This allows you to revisit the material or catch up if you miss any portion. Your privacy is important—sharing of the recording outside the participant group is not permitted.

Q: Can I get individual attention during the workshop?
While this is a group workshop, there will be opportunities for individual guidance if you raise your hand. We'll have at least one volunteer demonstration of The Work during the session, and possible breakout rooms for a paired exercise with support available.

Q: I'm concerned about emotional overwhelm. Is this workshop safe?
The Work is designed to be a gentle process of self-inquiry, not an emotional catharsis. Grace creates a contained, supportive environment. However, if you're currently in acute emotional distress or crisis, individual sessions might fit better for you before attending a group workshop.

Q: I have one last question--how can I contact you?

You can always schedule a short 15 minute complimentary session with Grace to meet her and see if the workshop fits for you. Write grace@workwithgrace.com if you'd prefer to email. Visit https://calendly.com/work-with-grace/consult to book a short introductory appointment.
