Have you ever lost a friendship you cared about?
Or felt regret, confusion, anger, or sadness about how things ended?
Most of us have experienced friendships that didn’t go the way we hoped. The disappointment or lingering pain from a broken connection can sit quietly in the heart for years — shaping how we trust, relate, or open ourselves to others today.
But what if it didn’t have to remain that way?
In this live 3-hour online workshop, we’ll gently explore unresolved friendships through the powerful lens of The Work of Byron Katie — a simple yet profound method of self-inquiry. You’ll have the opportunity to bring one past friendship (or current strained one) to inquiry and experience fresh clarity and peace.
What You’ll Experience in This Workshop:
You’ll leave with:
✨ More peace and understanding about the friendship
✨ Less resentment, regret, guilt, or sorrow
✨ Renewed openness to trust and connect with others
✨ Practical skills to apply self-inquiry to any relationship
Who is this for?
💛 Anyone with a friendship that ended badly or still carries an emotional charge
💛 Those who long for more peace around relationships of the past
💛 People curious about healing through self-inquiry and The Work of Byron Katie
💛 Both beginners and experienced practitioners of The Work
What You'll Experience
In this intimate, supportive virtual environment, you'll learn how to apply the four questions of The Work specifically to your thoughts. Through guided exercises and live demonstrations, you'll discover how to turn stressful thoughts into doorways to peace and understanding.
What Past Participants Say
"The entire reason I first entered The Work of Byron Katie was because a friend ghosted me. I was so hear-broken. I kept reaching out, she never responded. I was so distraught. 'She should respond to me' became 'I should respond to me'. I began finally to learn to be my own best friend. I am grateful for that friend, who never spoke to me again."
"When a dear friend came to stay with me, I found myself growing incredibly irritated as the days went by. What was supposed to be a wonderful connection was painful. It seemed she was criticizing me, rejecting me with small gestures and words. I was nervous in my own home. I loved this friend, but I knew that the only way to resolve my suffering with my friend was to inquire. Thank goodness for The Work."

Give yourself 3 hours set aside to do this work on any important friendship in your life, and receive understanding, awareness and the experience true friendship. Your own.
"Become very still, with eyes closed, and begin to focus on one specific problematic, stress-filled, difficult moment within that situation, when you were, in your words, “having trouble standing up for yourself.” For example, “I am angry at” (or saddened, etc.—identify the emotion you were feeling in that moment) and then fill in the name. Now, eyes closed, identify and get in touch with why you were angry (or saddened or …) at that person in that moment. Next, as you continue to consider and meditate on that same situation, fill in the next five statements on the Worksheet.
Now, let’s continue, let’s do The Work. Begin by questioning each statement on the Judge-Your-Neighbor Worksheet, one by one. Meditate on all four questions, then find turnarounds, and examples for each turnaround. This process takes focus, an open heart, and stillness. Your examples for each turnaround will reveal new realities to you. Allow them, as they are shown to you, to settle into your awareness, realities you may not have been aware of, they will wake you up one by one and enlighten you, show you a much kinder world. With all the love in my heart, I invite you to meet that world that is living right here, right now, right under your nose, just four questions (and your answers to them) away.." ~ Byron Katie

Why work with Grace?
Since 2005, what I've noticed about my students as well as my own personal inquiry life, is that so much can be discovered when it comes to telling our stories. To question and shift our thoughts about friends when it has gone "wrong" can altar for the best your perception of life.

Friendships have been a huge learning place in my life. How do we connect with others outside of our families? How do we say "no" or "yes" to others with love?
Who do we want to spend time with, or not spend time with?
To have good friends is said to be one of the most wonderful elements of human life....but what happens when a friendship goes sour, or breaks apart, or you feel betrayed or criticized, or rejected? What if that friend is really annoying?
Let's do The Work, for freedom.
Is This Workshop Right For You?
Q: I've never done The Work before. Can I still participate?
Yes, absolutely! This workshop is designed for both beginners and those with experience. We'll cover the basics of The Work's four questions and turnarounds as we move through the process, ensuring everyone has the foundation needed to engage. I'll guide you every step of the way. Coming with a "Beginners Mind" is actually wonderful.
Q: Is this workshop too basic for my situation? Work is powerful precisely because it meets you where you are. Many participants with deeply challenging relationships have experienced significant shifts. The simplicity of the process allows it to work with even the most complex relationship dynamics.
Q: What if the person I'm thinking of has passed away?
The Work is equally effective you're contemplaing is living or deceased. Many participants find profound healing in questioning thoughts about relationships no longer active, often experiencing a sense of resolution that wasn't possible during the person's lifetime.
Q: Do I need to share personal details about my relationship with my friend?
No. While voluntary sharing can enhance the experience, you can participate fully by working with your thoughts privately. The workshop is structured to respect everyone's comfort level with disclosure. You can attend with camera off (although you are encouraged to have it on for connection) and everyone will be muted unless you want to share.
Q: What technical requirements do I need for the Zoom meeting?
You'll need a device with internet connection, a webcam, and microphone. A quiet, private space is recommended. The Zoom link will be sent to you after registration, along with simple instructions for joining if you're new to the platform. It is also possible to dial in with your phone.
Q: Will the session be recorded?
Yes, the workshop will be recorded and available to participants afterward. This allows you to revisit the material or catch up if you miss any portion. Your privacy is important—sharing of the recording outside the participant group is not permitted.
Q: Can I get individual attention during the workshop?
While this is a group workshop, there will be opportunities for individual guidance if you raise your hand. We'll have at least one volunteer demonstration of The Work during the session, and possible breakout rooms for a paired exercise with support available.
Q: I'm concerned about emotional overwhelm. Is this workshop safe?
The Work is designed to be a gentle process of self-inquiry, not an emotional catharsis. Grace creates a contained, supportive environment. However, if you're currently in acute emotional distress or crisis, individual sessions might fit better for you before attending a group workshop.
Q: I have one last question--how can I contact you?
You can always schedule a short 15 minute complimentary session with Grace to meet her and see if the workshop fits for you. Write grace@workwithgrace.com if you'd prefer to email. Visit https://calendly.com/work-with-grace/consult to book a short introductory appointment.
